NEW STUDENT GUIDE
Learn about who we are and what you can expect from your experience at The Mat.
When should I register? We recommend creating a profile online before you arrive, however, If you don’t have time, you are welcome to do so at the studio. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to register at the studio. We open the doors 15 minutes prior to class, and the doors are locked when class starts.
When should I arrive? 10-15 minutes before class starts so you’ll have time to get settled and not feel rushed. We lock the doors when class starts, no exceptions, so please plan to arrive before the scheduled class start time.
What can I expect on my first visit? When you arrive, you will need to present a photo ID* to the teacher. Once the teacher gets you checked into class, they will show you around the studio. We have cubbies inside of the studio for your keys, phone (cell phones must be completely turned off or silenced, with vibration turned off) and other personal items. We ask that students leave their shoes outside of the studio. Let the teacher know if you have any injuries or if there’s anything he or she should know about you before class.
*You must present a valid photo ID on your first visit.
